This policy explains what personal information CedarBasis collects through this website and the early access list, why, and what you can do about it. CedarBasis is a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
CedarBasis isn’t available for use yet. This policy covers the website and the early access list only. Before you use the product, we’ll publish an updated policy that covers the records you put into it.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you join the early access list, we collect:
- your email address
- your role (for example, corporation owner or accountant)
- if you choose to tell us: how many corporations you work with, and which brokerages hold the investment accounts
- a record of your consent to receive emails: when you gave it and the exact wording you agreed to
If you email us, we keep the message and your contact details so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
- How you found us. When you sign up, we store the page you landed on, the referring website, and
campaign details in the link you followed (such as
utm_sourceor a Google Ads click ID). This tells us which ads and pages lead to signups. - Technical information. Our servers record your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use this to run the website, keep it secure and limit abuse, such as repeated automated signups.
- Essential cookies. The website uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work, including security tokens that protect forms from forged submissions.
- Analytics and advertising measurement. We may use analytics and advertising tools, such as Google Ads conversion tracking, to understand how people use the website and which ads lead to signups. These tools may set cookies or use similar technologies. Where the law requires it, we’ll ask for your consent before using them. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad personalization in your Google account.
How we use it
- to manage the early access list and contact you about early access
- to send you product updates, if you’ve agreed to receive them
- to decide which brokerages and features to support first
- to measure which marketing brings people to CedarBasis
- to keep the website secure and prevent abuse
- to meet our legal obligations, including keeping proof of email consent
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for purposes other than these without asking you.
Emails and your consent
We only email you about CedarBasis if you’ve agreed to it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to hi@cedarbasis.com. We’ll stop within 10 business days.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with:
- service providers who help us run CedarBasis, such as website hosting, email delivery, and analytics and advertising measurement. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- authorities, when the law requires it.
- a successor business, if CedarBasis is sold or transferred. We’d tell you before your information became subject to a different privacy policy.

How we protect it
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and access is limited to what’s needed to run CedarBasis. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, as the law requires.
